Easy and Delicious Chimichurri Sauce

Chimichurri is one of the easiest and most flavorful sauces you can make to add to almost anything! I love that it is made with just a few fresh ingredients and adds beautiful color to your plate.

If you have never made Chimichurri before, you’ve probably heard of it. Cole and I first had it at one of our favorite steakhouses and have been hooked ever since. I like to use a blend of cilantro, parsley and basil in mine to give that fresh, vibrant flavor.

It is most often found paired with steak but is also extremely delicious with chicken and pork! I love to make a batch of it and keep it in the fridge as a flavor booster to add to meals all throughout the week. Sandwiches, burritos, grilled meat and potatoes are all foods that pair perfect with Chimichurri.

Chimichurri Sauce Ingredients

Olive Oil- This is the base of your sauce so make sure to use a good quality olive oil for maximum flavor.

Parsley- I prefer Italian parsley as it yields a stronger taste.

Cilantro- The combination of parsley and cilantro is essential in chimichurri.

Basil- Basil isn’t always found in chimichurri but I think its absolutely worth including.

Garlic- Fresh garlic cloves are always best.

Lemon- Use fresh squeezed lemon juice for that perfect tang.

Red Wine Vinegar- I have done this with Apple Cider Vinegar but prefer the flavor from the red wine vinegar.

Chili Flakes- You can increase the amount if you like a bit more heat.

Onion- I like red onion or white onion in this sauce.
