Healthy Cookie Dough Protein Bites
If you love a little sweet treat, but want to keep it healthy these cookie dough protein bites are for you! They are easy to make, have added protein and are a perfect sweet treat for any time of day.

Whether are on a fitness journey and looking for healthier treats, or just want a sweet snack to feed your kids that isn’t full of garbage, you need to make these cookie dough protein bites! We all want easy snacks to squeeze in a bit more protein, and frankly most protein bars are full of garbage. That is why I love to make little protein treats at home.
These protein bites come together quickly with just a few simple ingredients. Natural peanut butter, a bit of butter, a quality vanilla protein powder and oats. Blend that together, and dip in your choice of chocolate for a heavenly bite that is better for you!
You can make a single or double batch of these and store them in the freezer for easy grab and go treats. A perfect addition to your weekly snacking.

Tips for Making Perfect Cookie Dough Protein Bites
- Make sure to beat the butter and peanut butter until ice and fluffy. This will take about 5 minutes but helps with a nice smooth, cookie dough texture in your bites.
- Use a quality vanilla protein powder that you actually enjoy. I recommend a whey protein or a beef isolate protein. You can find the one I use here and snag a discount with this link! https://www.equipfoods.com/MORGANM
- Always allow the cookie dough bites to chill in the freezer before dipping in chocolate. This will ensure that they hold together nicely when dipped in warm chocolate.
Cookie Dough Protein Bite Ingredients
Peanut Butter– You want a natural peanut butter that is just peanuts and salt.
Butter– Use whichever kind of butter is your favorite.
Vanilla Protein Powder- As mentioned above, you want a good vanilla whey or beef isolate protein! Make sure it is a protein you like the taste of.
Oat Flour– You can use store bought oat flour or just make your own by blending up some oats in a blender until fine.
Maple Syrup– This is used for a touch of sweetness. You can adjust this to your liking, depending on how sweet your protein powder already is.
Milk– Just a dash of milk, helps give these the perfect consistency. Any milk you like will work.
Vanilla– A little extra vanilla extract gives that cookie dough flavor.
Chocolate– This can be semi sweet chocolate, dark chocolate or any chocolate you like.

The Steps
- Start by adding the butter and peanut butter to a bowl with an electric mixer.
- Mix on high for about 5 minutes or until the mixture is light in color and nice and fluffy.
- Then, add in the vanilla extract and maple syrup and blend.
- Finally, add in the protein powder, oat flour, salt and milk. Beat on high until combined then fold in the 2 tbsp of chocolate chips.
- Next, line a baking sheet with parchment, then scoop the cookie dough into 12 balls and place on the baking sheet. Chill in the freezer for 10-20 minutes.

- Once the cookie dough balls are nice and firm, add the chocolate and 2 tsp of butter to a heat proof bowl, and melt over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.
- Take the chilled balls and dip them one by one into the chocolate.
- Use a fork to gently get each ball coated, then with the ball on the fork, gently tap the fork against the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
- Use the fork to gently transfer the cookie dough bite back onto the baking sheet and repeat this until all the bites are coated.

- OPTIONAL- I like to sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top of each ball before the chocolate hardens.
- Then, place the bites back in the freezer to set about 10-20 minutes. Enjoy!
